What is WorkBaltimore?

WorkBaltimore is a City-Wide employment & job readiness convention designed to connect current Baltimore City residents with job opportunities. This City- wide Empowerment to Employment Convention will feature an array of job-readiness workshops, seminars and webinars designed to prepare and connect current Baltimore City residents with employment opportunities.

What is the ultimate goal of WorkBaltimore?

WorkBaltimore is designed to help unemployed and under-employed Baltimore City residents secure and retain viable employment within Baltimore City.

What are the dates for WorkBaltimore?

WorkBaltimore pre-convention activities are scheduled for Friday, August 25, 2017 through Monday September 25, 2017 at locations across the City. The Convention is scheduled for Wednesday September 27, 2017 at the Baltimore City Convention Center.

Will ADA accommodations be available for WorkBaltimore participants?

Participants are encouraged to include accommodation requests at the time of registration.

Will a translator be provided if I need assistance understanding English?

Participants are encouraged to include their requests at the time of registration.

Will I be able to eat lunch onsite?

Participants can purchase food and beverages at the Convention Center.

What types of workshops are available?

WorkBaltimore will provide both pre-conference and conference job readiness resources and activities. Please visit WorkBaltimore.Baltimorecity.gov for a complete listing.

Will someone be available to assist me with my resume?

Yes! Resume writing workshops will be available during August and September 2017. Please visit WorkBaltimore.Baltimorecity.gov for a complete listing.

I'm nearing retirement and not sure what I want to do, will there be anything at the convention for me?

Absolutely! The convention will have employment opportunities for job seekers at every career level.

Will employment opportunities be available for executive and professional level job seekers at WorkBaltimore?

Yes. The event is intended to attract participants from the full spectrum of job seekers at every career level.

Will employers other than government entities be present at the event?

Yes. The event will connect participants with a high volume of local and diverse employers across multiple industries.

I do not live in Baltimore, still attend the event?

Yes! The convention is designed to attract current and new residents to live and work in Baltimore City.

Do I have to bring anything to the Event?

We recommend participants bring their updated resume, a notebook/writing pad, and pen/pencil.

Where do I pick up my badge and convention materials?

Participants can pick up their badge and convention materials at the registration check-in.

What are the hours of the convention?

The Convention is scheduled from Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.

How do I modify my registration after is has been processed?

You can make changes to your registration at registration check-in on the day of the convention.

How old do I have to be to attend the event?

WorkBaltimore is designed for adults 18 and over.

How long do workshops, seminars, and webinars last seminar/workshop last?

Typically, pre-convention and convention workshops, seminars, and webinars will last 45 minutes to 2 hours.

How should I dress for the convention?

Participants are encouraged to wear business attire.

Will there be transportation?

For areas that have limited public transportation options, alternative transportation options will be available.

Do I have to Pre-Register?

Pre-registration is highly recommended.

Do I need to register for an exhibitor badge?

Yes! All personnel that need access to the show floor require an exhibitor badge. This includes, but not limited to, representatives from the exhibiting company and outside sales representatives

I need electric and internet connectivity, will it be available?

Yes, electric and internet connectivity is available and the order must be placed prior to the event.
